The location is great as I was on the train and on foot. Center of historic village is walking distance. A grocery store is very close in that same direction. And a bistro with nice food across from train station. The staff are very attentive and accommodating. I am going back.

Visiting the southern coast of Brittany, we drove along the coast to Locronan, Quimper, Pont-Aven, Carnac - for the archeologist there are plenty of other Dolmens and other stone monuments mostly reachable by car, which have small carparks to stop at, Auray, Port Louis, Quiberon all within easy reach. Going north east to Josselin, Rochefort en Terre and the east of the Gulf of Morbihan also easy to reach by car, There appears to be a good bus service too but we didn't use it. Took the train to Nantes for the day - watch out for overcrowding on the train if you come back at rush hour!! Must see in Nantes is the Iles de Nantes mechanical museum with huge moving mechanical elephant which carries passengers.

We found Vannes charming, even in winter.
We found Vannes charming, even in winter. The medieval buildings are impressive and beautifully kept but fortunately the town is not over-run by tourism and retains a sense of its own identity. Its proximity to sites like Carnac is a big plus.

The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan.
The best part of Vannes is the Golfe of Morbihan. We rented bikes (easy) at the dock and had a wonderful time on Ile-d-Arz. The ferries come/go frequently. The town center of Vannes has lovely places near the ramparts. The city itself is very busy with plenty of traffic.

Fantastic town with a nice vibe, good bars, restaurants and around every corner in Vannes was a super building or view, very impressed, also found the restaurants hidden down the side streets had really good food and a lot cheaper than the ones on the main routes .
We would avoid the hotel we stopped in as it was a good 20 minute walk away from the edge of the town through a couple of quite scary at night subways, no bus service into the town from the Kyriad Prestige Vannes of which we guess was rather more suited to the business community rather than tourist.
It also did not state that it was only 20 yards from a busy inter city rail line on one side and a very noisy road junction on the opposite side , although the room basic without a room safe, fridge or tea making resource the bed was comfortable and the bathroom excellent.
The hotel was also very clean, its only big bonus was large free car park

Nice city, pretty harbour and lovely old buildings.
Nice city, pretty harbour and lovely old buildings. Very easy to walk around. Nice gardens. Plenty of options for food and drink. Great base to explore the wider region, including the forest, bay and plenty of beaches.
The location is really great in the center of old Vannes with no car. The house was first built during the 16th century, but the apartment is well renovated, even thought it was not possible to have everything horizontally or vertically aligned. But that's part of the charm. The host had left some local delicacies for our arrival, which were excellent. The apartment is well equipped and the WIFI is excellent.
The parking is a real bonus. It is about 200 meters, 600 feet from the apartment.
I'd definitely return to the place.
Warm, cordial staff welcomes you to this gem straight across from the train station. Hip design (think sand in the lobby), immaculate, thought-out rooms, a huge shower (the biggest I've seen in France), a super comfortable bed, an amazing breakfast buffet (starting from 6am, featuring very friendly staff even early in the morning), a good A/C, windows not letting in the traffic outside, the free coffee/tea station in the lobby... it was a perfect stay. Thank you! It's ibis STYLES from now on for me!
A very nice apartment close to the walkable downtown, and harbor. The market takes place on Wed and Sat, and is just a few blocks away. A grocery is nearby and parking on the street is not too expensive as you only pay during certain daytime hours. Very comfy bed, great TV, and free washer and dryer is provided downstairs. A very well equipped kitchen. Vannes has such a nice walkable (no cars) shopping/restaurants area and it was great to be so close.
Le Cosy was an excellent apartment with stylish and modern touches. It had a great kitchen with high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The large dining table and bar stools were well designed and dovetailed nicely into the living room. The shower room and separate toilet were of the highest quality as well as the comfortable mattress and bed. Close proximity to beautiful Vannes was a bonus, once we found our bearings.
A warm, spacious flat situated less than 5 minutes walk from the historical town centre of Vannes. Everything was very clean, with a nice bathroom and well-functioning kitchen. The host was very welcoming and met me directly outside the building. There are many restaurants in close vicinity to the flat and it’s an easy 10 minute walk from the train station.
The hotel was in a good position. The room was clean and the bedding was crisp and fresh. The breakfast was excellent with homemade produce and pretty crockery & linen. Vannes is a beautiful destination to visit. Although the hotel is a little out of the centre it wasn't a huge walk and it's very convenient to the station.
Great location for a few days visit of Vannes. Very friendly staff, the hotel was clean and well prepared. The lady that ran the breakfast room was lovely, she made sure that the breakfast was perfect. This lady really made our stay in Vannes very memorable.
The apartment had all the facilities we needed to have a wonderful stay in Vannes. The street can be a bit noisy during the day but closing the windows helps a lot; at night there is hardly any traffic. There's a great restaurant just across the street.
The apartment was really clean, modern and spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the staff at the reception was super friendly and helpful. We appreciated the free parking at 2 minutes walk from the hotel.
Excellent location for short walk into the beautiful old city centre. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very good breakfast. The bed was large and very comfortable. The room was very clean.
We were travelling on electric bikes and it was important that we had somewhere secure for them at night. This was not a problem at this hotel. also the location was entral which was god
The quality of the accommodation was excellent, a modern, well equipped apartment. Location was perfect, central for Vannes, short (ish) walk from the train station.
the apt is spacious with many decorative items. it is the owner’s home I believe. the location is great- by the port and short walk to Vannes central ville.
